Our Purpose
Today, as people seek greater comfort in their lives, they have extremely high expectations regarding the improvements they desire in the quality of their homes-the focal point of their lives-and the surrounding residential environment. Moreover, the greater amount of free time people have now and the longer life spans suggest that homes and residential environments will come to possess an ever greater significance in our lives.
The MACHINAMI Foundation was established in 1979, at a time when the emphasis in Government housing policy was shifting from quantity to quality, including the quality of residential environments. The foundation's purpose is thus to work to enhance the quality of homes and residential environments.

Our Work
The Foundation is engaged in the following projects directed towards promoting improvements in homes and residential environments. The Foundation' s main purpose:
1 . Planning and administration of comprehensive housing exhibitions.
2. Administration of model home exhibition sites.
3. Educational and PR activities- a) Consultations and tours, b) Design contests, c) Symposiums and seminars, d) Periodicals.
4 . Study and research projects.
5. Other projects necessary for promoting our ideologies within action.

Enviroment

The true "active" elements of the construction are the reflections of light and colour, which express the true dimension of life and dialogue with the surrounding space right in the midst of daily living.The profound essence of this architecture can be appreciated only if its forms are interpreted as a dynamic element of the construction capable of setting up a relationship with the light effects and conveying a sense of the light weight of the entire structure.

This project creates those special spaces .
It was programed to do so by putting the pool as a memoir to the bay which is a big part of the district.

the pool itself and it's surroundings create those inter - acting public spaces that causes a special flow to them.
the openings such as we witness in the image above that occur in the projet continues the flow and make them more than just a center courtyard.
